The Environment:

Big Al's Oyster Bar Orleans Hotel and Casino has created, special for us, a casual and welcoming eating environment. It feels just like NOLA in here, minus the suffocating temperatures and all the madness of Bourbon Street. This is a place that you don't have to dress up for, and it's encouraged not to. Lots of red sauces that are hard to get out. We're lucky the stain blends in nicely with our floral printed shirt or we'd never be able to wear it again!

Why We Dine:

Big Al's Oyster Bar Las Vegas is your basic Orleans joint, nothing fancy, just decent food that quenches your hunger and sends you on your way. We wouldn't recommend taking your average Vegas girl here on your first date, but if you do, and she likes it, marry that girl! She's a keeper if she prefers Big Al's Oyster Bar at the Orleans over a Bellagio restaurant.

  • Convenient in the Orleans: Whether you're in the Orleans for the casino, the hotel or in the area for any other reason you've concocted, Big Al's Oyster Bar is a great place to grab a quick dinner or to sit down and stay a while.
  • Oyster Shooters: Not quite the oysters with hand guns robbing a bank we were hoping for, but they still have something going for them here. Yep, seafood and liquor in one big bite, or gulp, is something that Big Al's Oyster Bar Las Vegas doesn't want you to go home without trying. You won't need a fancy wine pairing for this meal, just the oyster shooters full of vodka or tequila.
  • Oysters: It's in the name, so it's probably their specialty, right? Well, as far as Vegas is concerned, Big Al's Oyster Bar at the Orleans has top-notch oysters. Get a dozen, or just half dozen on the half shell if you can't man-up or oyster shooters, if you're just trying to liquor up.

Inside Knowledge:

Big Al's Oyster Bar at the Orleans serves lots of tourists, but locals love it. Some say they make their food with the perfect amount of kick, but those might be all the people that have never experienced true NOLA food. Either way, if there's not enough spicy kick in the dish Big Al's Oyster Bar Las Vegas serves you, every table has bottles of Cholula, Tapatio, and Tabasco to dress to your likings!

We Recommend:

  • Boston Clam Chowder: Get that New England stuff out of here! And don't bother with the Manhattan Clam Chowder, Big Al's Oyster Bar at the Orleans it's all about Boston Clam Chowder baby! It's dense and filling, so don't think that just because it's soup you can't get a full meal out of it. If you want more though, the pan roast is another house favorite. Big Al's Oyster Bar seafood pan roasts come with shrimp, crab, or a combination of both. That's a lot of fish right there!
  • Avoiding the Chicken: They do spicy seafood, but the chicken usually disappoints. Just take our word for it and if you're not a seafood lover, then Big Al's Oyster Bar Las Vegas is not for you.

Is it Worth It?

It's pretty good priced for what you're getting. You're not eating at the Bellagio, so don't expect the fanciness or the high prices, but it's not McDonald's prices either.
