Photos from Aria Hotel at Las Vegas City Center

The abstract metal sculpture is one of many in a field. It represents the maybe-too-high-minded aspirations of the Aria, which often appears more interested in impressing the viewer than delighting him.

In front of the hotel, which is sort of in the center of the complex, hangs a huge, angular sculpture made from canoes.

This restaurant in the neighboring (and ultra-pricey) Crystals mall is supposed to give you the feeling of eating in a treehouse. Heck, give us five bucks and we'll let you have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in ours.

The Aria tower looming and glowing in the early evening. The Aria is just one of the many hotel and condo towers in the City Center.

The large and dark Aria sportsbook looks like a good place to watch the game, but it is split into distinct areas that prevent a stadium or crowd feeling.

The lobby is one of the lightest, airiest parts of the hotel/casino thanks to the huge wall of glass behind the front desk.
