CheapoVegas.com Presents Details on the National Wrangler Rodeo Finals and Surrounding Events

Nov 08, 2013

The second week of November might just be rolling in, but it’s never too early to start planning for December in Las Vegas. This holiday season brings big events to Sin City, and so CheapoVegas.com reveals a few of the  top things to do in Las Vegas during the winter holidays.

Beginning at the end of the first week of December through the middle of the month, Vegas’ own Mirage Hotel & Casino will play host to a number of activities celebrating  one of Las Vegas’ biggest events: the 2013 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.  The 2013 Finals mark the 10th annual National Wrangler Finals, and The Mirage Hotel & Casino plans to celebrate with everything from concerts to comedy shows.

What to Do:

  • The rodeo opens December 5th. Each night of the Rodeo through December 14th, the Mirage Race & Sports Book will offer free nightly live broadcast on its larger than life Sony screens. These Sony 4k Ultra-HD projector screens each weigh in at 85’ so viewers will feel like they’re in the midst of the rodeo action.

  • December 5th through December 14th, concerts featuring top country stars in music will go on to perform at The Mirage every evening at 10pm. Performing artists include Dustin Lynch, Josh Thompson, Easton Corbin, and the Brit Stokes Band. Attendance is complimentary!

  • Enjoy nightly events in the Mirage Race & Sports Book such as give-a-ways and drink specials.

  • December 6-7 and December 13-14, comedian Ron White, of “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” fame, will perform at The Mirage’s Terry Pator Theatre. Tickets run $59.99-$79.99

  • Don’t forget to root for the Team Mirage Cowboys. The Steer Wrestling competitors hail The Mirage Hotel & Casino as their official hotel, and a number of top athletes in this year’s competition also call it home. Team Mirage Cowboys include K.C. Jones, “Rodeo Vegas” founder and six-time NFR Steer Wrestling qualifier; Taos Munch, two-time Saddle Bronc Riding World Champion; and Traver Knowles, nine-time NFR Steer Wrestling qualifier. Head to “Rodeo Vegas” nightly at The Mirage for a chance to meet and mingle with these Las Vegas rodeo champs.

Sin City visitors looking for things to do in Las Vegas that are a little less sinful and a little more family-friendly don’t have to worry about missing out on the “Rodeo Vegas” events. Let the kids watch the bull riding events on the Mirage Race & Sports Book’s big screens, and then skip (or let mom and dad take turns!) the evening festivities for some of these more kid-friendly Las Vegas activities instead.

What to Do with Kids:

  • Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is also conveniently located in The Mirage Hotel & Casino. Located next to the hotel’s pool, this is an animal lover’s dream. Bring the little ones to get up close and personal with everything from Bottlenose Dolphins to Bengal Tigers.

  • Want more dolphins, fewer tigers? Don’t miss The Mirage Aquarium. This Las Vegas aquarium features one of the most technologically advanced aquatic exhibits in the world and supports over 1,000 coral reef animals representing 60+ species.

For visitors who would rather avoid the Las Vegas Rodeo crowds altogether but still want to experience the edgier side of Sin City, the holiday season in Las Vegas is a great time to find the best parties. December in Las Vegas means holiday parties galore.

What to Do for Those in a More Festive Mood:

  • If skipping lines and cover charges sounds like a good time (and how does it not?), would-be Las Vegas party-goers should try Party Tours Las Vegas on for size. Good times start on the party bus which features unlimited drinks and takes guests from club to club.  Created by locals who know the Las Vegas club scene, there is no minimum guest count for this tour so grab some friends or head over solo and make new friends this holiday season. Tours offered Thurs-Sun, times may vary.

  • Las Vegas Club Crawl also orchestrates tours through some of the best Las Vegas nightlife scenes. Participation in a Las Vegas Club Crawls entitles guests to tons of perks including free food and drinks. All things considered, most guests with this great tour company save at least $100 so that Las Vegas guests can spend some more money on holiday presents (or the slots). Tours start at 7 on Tues., Thurs. and Sat.

There’s no shortage of things to do in Las Vegas during December, especially since the National Wrangler Rodeo Finals calls the Sin City home. CheapoVegas.com presents this list so that Sin City visitors never have to miss out on the rodeo action whether attending solo, or with kids in tow. Awesome club crawls mean the party never stops in Las Vegas.
