Best Cheap Hotels in Vegas - Save Your Two Cents!

The Quad Las Vegas

A "palace"? Well, perhaps in some people's eyes...

The Quad Las Vegas NV

Long Live CHEAP!

Our favorite classic cheap hotels in Las Vegas have been around for years.

Some of the best cheap hotels in Vegas have been around for years. Old stand-by's like the ones listed below have been go-to hotels during our more dire financial circumstances. (So, basically forever.) But hey, everyone's gotta' cut loose a little even when the times are tough. These cheap hotels Las Vegas are essentially recession-proof; their Blackjack tables, however, are a different story...

  • The Quad: Though it officially became the The Quad in 1979, IP has actually been around since 1959 and was originally named the Flamingo Capri! However, the average Cheapo knows the The Quad for what it is - the cheapest hotel with the best location on the Strip. It's easy to miss the The Quad from the Boulevard sidewalk, especially with the construction of The Linq in and around te property. However, with average room rates hovering below $30 a night, and a central location next to the Flamingo and across from Caesars Palace, this old favorite is not to be missed if you're visiting Las Vegas on a budget.
  • Excalibur: Another Vegas Strip hotel fit for a king is the Excalibur. (Well, that's debatable, but we couldn't pass up that line.) This mammoth hotel on the south side of The Strip is one of the most budget-friendly MLife hotels, and is especially great if you're bringing along the kiddos. So long as you're not expecting an actual kingdom when it comes to your hotel room, you should be perfectly content with this cheap Vegas hotel on the Strip.

El Cortez

You'll spend more on one cocktail on the Strip than you will for a full night at El Cortez.

El Cortez Las Vegas NV

Cheap Hotels in Downtown Vegas

Well, since there aren't any expensive hotels Downtown, this would actually include ALL Downtown hotels.

Downtown Las Vegas hotels are the epitome of doing Sin City on the cheap. No other area in Las Vegas boasts as many cheap hotels to choose from. Casino Boy has long been a fan of cheap hotels Las Vegas, and these are two of his favorite Downtown...

  • El Cortez: There are Las Vegas hotels cheap, and then there is the El Cortez. Any Cheapo that's ever stayed at the El knows that you can book a room here for less than a couple of drinks on the Strip. Seriously! The casino has that Downtown charm and Vegas authenticity you'll be hard-pressed to encounter on Las Vegas Boulevard, and while there rooms aren't anything to write home about, when you're paying a $20-spot for a place to sleep, what is there to complain about, really?
  • The Plaza: This Las Vegas classic recently enjoyed an upgrade, and let's just say that this face-lift was more successful than anything Joan Rivers ever pulled off. They've got new rooms, new restaurants and an upgraded casino floor, and they managed to do it without spiking hotel room rates dramatically. The Plaza deserves a slow clap for maintaining its status as one of the best cheap hotels in Vegas.

Casino Boy gives you his two cents on the best cheap hotels in Vegas to park it! Well, not his literal two cents (Ever heard of penny slots, people?) - mostly just where you'll find moderately priced and cheap hotels Las Vegas. Sin City is perhaps the only city in the world with 3-star hotels running under $40 a night - you just need to know where to look and what Vegas deals to take advantage of! Let Casino Boy fill you in below...

The best cheap hotels in Vegas are the ones listed in that handy-dandy compare table above. (How convenient!) Cheapo Vegas loves cheap hotels Las Vegas for a lot of reasons. Actually, we like 'em so much that we made a list of the top 5 reasons Casino Boy prefers to stay at the best cheap hotels in Vegas:

  1. Casino Boy is poor; seriously, how much capital can a kid really have? Cheap Las Vegas hotels are more or less his only option.
  2. The best cheap hotels in Vegas aren't much worse off than the moderate or luxury hotels nearby, and some of them are even regarded as 3-star hotels!
  3. With all the extra coin, Casino Boy can save his hard-earned dough (i.e. allowance) on the Blackjack tables, assuming he can find a dealer with poor enough eyesight to mistake him for a 21-year-old.
  4. Las Vegas hotels cheap are HUGE compared to other urban cities in America. Seriously - a $25 room at the The Quad feels like a suite when compared to a $200 NYC shoebox.
  5. More cash for the Sapphire!
