Cheap Off-Strip Hotels in Vegas: Our Favorite Hidden Gems
The Pros of Cheap Off-Strip Hotels
There are some definite advantages to staying a short ride (and in some cases, a short walk) from Las Vegas Boulevard, and yet cheap Off-Strip hotels in Vegas are one of the best-kept secrets to Vegas first-timers. What do we like about Off-Strip hotels Las Vegas? Well, here's a short list we just thought of...
- They're cheaper. (Duh.) A 4-star hotel like the Rio Las Vegas (Yes, it's REALLY 4 stars!) goes for around $50 a night even though it's about 50 feet away from the Strip. (OK, it's a little more than that, but, I mean, you can SEE it from the BLVD.)
- They're great for gambling. Why do you think locals like Bob Vegas stroll over to the Station casinos when they need a Blackjack fix? They're quieter, your odds are generally better, and they offer games you wouldn't normally find on the Strip, including single-deck Blackjack.
- Less tourist-y. Not that being a tourist is a bad thing - hell, who isn't a tourist in Vegas? Sorry, Bob - didn't mean to offend. What we meant was, these hotels generally attract a loyal customer base - you know, the third and fourth-time Vegas vacationers who've seen it all and know what they like.
- They're cheaper. Seriously, guys - we just wanted to reiterate.
Coolest Off-Strip Hotels
And just so we're clear, there's nothing lame about Off-Strip hotels Las Vegas. Some of the best hidden gems in Sin City are located just off the Strip, including great sports books, $3 Blackjack and pool parties that would make the Strip crowd jealous...
- LVH Hotel & Casino: Formerly the Las Vegas Hilton, the LVH is home to one of the best sports books of any casino in Vegas. Each year, the LVH hosts their "SuperContest", which pits the most clever sharps in Vegas against one another to see who is the best at picking against the spread each NFL Sunday. Oh, and their rooms used to have the Hilton name on it, so, seriously, how bad they can be?
- Hooters: Long one of our favorite Off-Strip hotels Las Vegas (And not for the wings - hey ohhhh!), Casino Boy loves Hooters for a lot of reasons. There's the rooms (cheap - like $25 or less cheap some nights), the beer prices (just $1.50 when you're not gambling, and free otherwise of course) and - wait for it - the $3 Blackjack! (What did you think we were gonna' say? CB's a KID, Cheapos!) Also, Hooters just barely cracks our list of the best cheap Off-Strip hotels in Vegas because, well, it's just barely Off the Strip.
- Hard Rock Hotel & Casino: We love the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino for its solid room rates (use their promo codes to find rooms starting around the $65 range, or sign up with their Backstage Pass for even better Vegas deals), awesome rooms (a fixture at all Hard Rock hotels), and on-site music venues (there's The Joint, plus the new Vinyl Lounge is set to debut in August, 2012). Not only that, but their Sunday Vegas pool party - Rehab - is as great a party that you'll find at any cheap Off-Strip hotels in Vegas.
Cheapos, this is what your boy does best - cheap Off-Strip hotels in Vegas are the kid's forte. Alright, CB can give you the heads up on cheap rooms in Vegas just about anywhere, but he's got a particular knack for finding those cheap hotel rooms just Off the Strip in Sin City. While these hiden gems may be slightly off the beaten path (and in most cases we do mean slightly), Off-Strip hotels Las Vegas offer even more bang for your buck than those hotels on the Boulevard, and they're a mere cab ride (or swift walk) away...

Las Vegas Off-Strip hotels appeal to the Cheapo masses because of their bang-to-buck ratio (superb) and old Vegas charm vibes. These joints are where the locals come to play, and if they're alright with Bob and Johnny Vegas, then they're OK in our books, too.
Our favorite Off-Strip hotels Vegas have friendly dealers, low-key gamblers and better odds than you'll find on the Vegas boulevard. If the rooms are nice and comfy, well, that's just a bonus in our opinion. Luckily, every hotel that made the cut above fits that description, so there's nothing to worry about, Cheapos!
